Session & Hourly Opens
Plots session opens, hourly opens, midnight open, and kill zone highlights for time-based ICT reference levels.
Why Session Opens Matter in ICT
ICT methodology places enormous weight on session opens as reference points for price delivery. The London Open (3 AM EST), New York Open (8 AM EST), and Midnight Open are not just time markers โ they're the price levels around which institutional order flow is orchestrated. Liquidity sweeps, fake-outs, and displacement moves are disproportionately clustered around these opens.
Hourly opens extend this logic across the full trading day. Every hour's opening price is a potential reference level. This indicator automates the plotting of all session and hourly opens, kill zones, and the Asian range โ giving you the complete ICT time-based framework without manual line drawing.
Key Features
Session Open Lines
Plots London (3 AM EST), New York (8 AM EST), and Asia (8 PM EST) opens as horizontal lines extending across the session. Each session is colour-coded and independently togglable. Opening hours are configurable to match your broker's timezone.
Midnight Open
The Midnight Open is one of the most important reference levels in ICT. It divides the trading day into two 12-hour periods and acts as a magnetic price level. The indicator plots it with a distinct line and can extend it to the following midnight.
Hourly Opens
Plots up to 24 hourly open levels simultaneously. In ICT, each hour's opening price is a delivery reference โ price frequently returns to fill the gap between the previous hour's close and the current hour's open. The number of hourly opens and their visual style are fully configurable.
Kill Zones
Shaded background regions highlighting the high-probability trading windows: London Kill Zone (2โ5 AM EST), New York Kill Zone (7โ10 AM EST), optional Asian Range (8 PM โ 12 AM EST), and Silver Bullet window (10โ11 AM EST). Kill zones are where the majority of ICT setups form.
Asian Range
Marks the Asian session range โ the consolidation period before the London session breaks out. ICT traders use the Asian range high and low as liquidity targets for the London open move.
Silver Bullet Window
Highlights the 10โ11 AM EST Silver Bullet window โ an ICT-specific session where a distinct three-step setup forms. Toggle independently and combine with the FVG Scanner to identify Silver Bullet entries.
Settings Reference
Works On
Forex (all major and minor pairs), indices, crypto. Most valuable on timeframes where session opens are visible as distinct events: 1m, 5m, 15m for intraday work. The kill zone shading is most useful on 5mโ15m charts where you can see price action within each window.
Recommended Setup
Enable London Kill Zone, NY Kill Zone, and Midnight Open as a minimum. Set hourly opens to 8 to cover the NY session. If you trade the London breakout, also enable the Asian Range to see the consolidation level being targeted. Use alongside the FVG Scanner โ FVGs that form within kill zones are the core ICT intraday setup. Add Silver Bullet if you specifically trade the 10โ11 AM window.
