Your Data Stays in Your Browser

All tools on this site — including the Council Tax Estimator, FOI Request Generator, Subject Access Request Builder, Business Rates Calculator, Pay Grade Calculator and Planning Permission Checker — run entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript. No data you enter into any tool is sent to, processed by, or stored on any server. Your council tax details, FOI requests, SAR letters, business information, salary figures and planning queries remain on your device at all times.

You can verify this by opening your browser's Network tab (F12) while using any tool — you will see no outbound data requests containing your input.

Analytics Data

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) via Google Tag Manager (GTM-54K98MWX) to collect anonymised usage data. This is loaded only after you accept analytics cookies via our cookie consent banner. Data collected includes pages visited, time on page, device type, browser type, approximate geographic region, and referring website. This data is anonymised and cannot identify you personally. We use it to understand which tools are most used and how to improve them.

Cookies

Our cookie consent banner gives you the choice to accept or reject non-essential cookies before any are set. Essential cookies store your consent preference only. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) are set only if you click Accept. No cookies are required for tool functionality. You can change your preferences at any time by clearing your browser's localStorage for this site.

Advertising

We may display advertisements through Google AdSense, which uses cookies to serve relevant ads. AdSense cookies are loaded only after consent. Manage your ad preferences at Google Ads Settings or opt out at Your Online Choices.

Third-Party Services

Third-party services used: Google Analytics (anonymised usage, post-consent only) and Google AdSense (advertising, post-consent only). Both are operated by Google LLC, which may transfer data outside the UK under standard contractual clauses. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy. We do not sell or share your personal data with any other party.

Data Retention

Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months before automatic deletion. We do not maintain any separate database of user data. Since all tool data is processed client-side, we have no tool-related data to retain or delete.

Your Rights Under UK GDPR

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation and Data Protection Act 2018, you have the right to: access personal data we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate data; request deletion; object to processing; withdraw consent for analytics cookies at any time; and lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
