Data Controller
QuickDev Tools is operated by Anthony D Johnson. For any privacy-related queries, contact johnsons496@googlemail.com.
Data We Collect
Tool Data (None)
All QuickDev Tools run entirely in your browser using client-side JavaScript. No data you enter into any tool — including JSON, regex patterns, text for diffing, Base64 content, colour values, cron expressions, XML, or CSS — is ever transmitted to our servers or any third party. Everything is processed locally on your device and remains under your control at all times. We have no ability to view, access, or recover any data you process through our tools.
Analytics Data
When you accept analytics cookies, we collect anonymised usage data through Google Analytics 4 (GA4) via Google Tag Manager (GTM container ID: GTM-54K98MWX). This includes pages visited, session duration, approximate geographic location (country and city level), device type, browser type, screen resolution, and interaction events such as which tools are used and which actions are performed (for example, formatting or copying output). We use this data to understand which tools are most popular and to improve the site. Google Analytics data is retained for 14 months.
Advertising Data
We display advertisements through Google AdSense. When you accept advertising cookies, Google may collect data to serve personalised advertisements based on your browsing activity across the web. You can manage ad personalisation at Google Ads Settings or opt out of personalised ads entirely.
Lawful Basis for Processing
We process analytics and advertising data on the basis of your consent, which you provide through our cookie consent banner. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser cookies and revisiting the site, at which point the consent banner will reappear. Essential cookies (such as your consent preference) are processed under our legitimate interest in operating the website.
Cookies
Our site uses the following categories of cookies:
Essential cookies: Your cookie consent preference is stored in localStorage to remember your choice across visits. No other first-party cookies are set.
Analytics cookies (optional): Google Analytics 4 sets cookies including _ga (distinguishes users, expires after 2 years) and _ga_* (maintains session state, expires after 2 years). These are only loaded after you accept analytics cookies via the consent banner.
Advertising cookies (optional): Google AdSense may set cookies for ad personalisation and frequency capping. These are only loaded after you accept advertising cookies via the consent banner.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking all cookies will not affect the functionality of any tools, as they operate entirely client-side without cookies.
Third-Party Processors
We share data with the following third-party processors, only when you have consented:
Google LLC (United States) — provides Google Analytics 4 and Google AdSense. Google processes data under their own privacy policy. Data transferred to the United States is protected under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. Google's privacy policy: policies.google.com/privacy.
Data Retention
Tool data: not retained (never transmitted to any server). Analytics data: retained by Google Analytics for 14 months from collection. Advertising data: governed by Google's data retention policies. Cookie consent preferences: retained in your browser's localStorage until you clear it.
International Transfers
Analytics and advertising data may be transferred to Google servers in the United States. These transfers are covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Google's standard contractual clauses.
Your Rights Under UK GDPR
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to: access any personal data we hold about you; request correction of inaccurate data; request deletion of your data; object to processing of your data; restrict how we process your data; receive your data in a portable format; and withdraw consent at any time. Since our tools process no personal data server-side, these rights primarily apply to analytics and advertising data collected through cookies.
To exercise any of these rights, email johnsons496@googlemail.com. We will respond within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, telephone 0303 123 1113.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised accordingly. Continued use of the site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
